Do you know what Recency Bias is? It means that if you win recently, it does not mean that you will win again. Similarly, Survivorship Bias means that if you win a few times and survive, it does not mean that you will always survive and win. This is called the Recent Event Trap—if you win an event recently, you get caught in that trap and feel that you will always win.
This is a dangerous illusion. When a person starts winning continuously 8-10 times, he begins to believe that he will never lose. He gets caught in this Recent Event Trap. There are many such examples, like in the Mahabharata, where Duryodhan was caught in this trap. He believed that since he had many Maharathis with him, he would never lose any battle and his victory was certain. This overconfidence led to his downfall.
If you also feel that you can never lose, read the Bhagavad Gita and free yourself from this Recent Event Trap. True wisdom comes from understanding that every situation is different, and nothing is guaranteed.
Hare Krishna.
